Christmas and New Year at Frognel Hall Hotel

Frognel Hall is an ideal venue for a festive break with its Victorian character and peaceful situation, wonderful home cooking and warm and friendly welcome.

Our standard Christmas programme extends over a four night stay with arrival on 23rd December and departure on 27th December.

Our New Year's festivities extend over a three night stay, with arrival on 30th December  and departure on 2nd January 2012!  Both these breaks are full board and include entertainment and plenty of opportunities to relax and party.

A typical Christmas Itinerary

23rd December
Arrival during the afternoon.  Relax and freshen up before joining us in the bar for a welcoming sherry reception at 5.45 pm, followed by dinner from 6.30 pm.  The evening continues with a “Guess the weight of the cake” competition and musical entertainment, with dancing for the more energetic.  Warm mince pies will be served later on in the bar to round off the evening.

Christmas Eve
Breakfast  from  8.30 am.  A day at your leisure, or perhaps to do some last minute shopping.  A light lunch will be served at 1.00 pm.  Dinner will be served from 6.30 pm, followed by a Christmas Quiz with carols from about 8.30 pm.  Mince pies to finish the day.  Taxies can be ordered to take you to the lovely St Matthias local church to attend midnight communion and start Christmas in the right spirit.

Christmas Day
Bucks Fizz breakfast from 9.00 am, with a visit from Santa with a little something to wish you a happy Christmas.  The morning is free to stroll into town.  Traditional Christmas lunch will be served at about 1.00 pm with all the trimmings, and the afternoon will be free to walk it off, or relax and chat in the drawing room or perhaps watch the Queen’s speech on TV.  Christmas buffet from 7.00pm, followed by musical entertainment.

Boxing Day
Breakfast from 8.30 am.  Take a morning walk or swim (yes, some people do!), or spend the morning relaxing.  A light lunch will be served in the lounge at about 1.00 pm.  In the afternoon guests will have the option of seeing the Christmas show at Babbacombe Theatre (please book with the hotel in advance; the ticket is not included in the programme price).  Dinner from 6.30 pm, followed by the results of the cake competition and a quiz and games in the lounge.  Late night Christmas cake and bubbly will finish off the evening and toast a wonderful stay with us at Frognel Hall.

27th December
Breakfast from 8.30 am., and after that it’s time to say goodbye for now.  Why not fend off the post Christmas blues by booking early for next year?
